Established in 2016, Classes without walls is currently being developed to provide the opportunity for students in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades to communicate with students from a neighboring school district that has a different socioeconomic profile. The program can also be used between schools in the same district to promote 21st century on-line learning activities. Piloted in the State of Connecticut, the Trumbull School District and the Bridgeport Public Schools engaged in an on - line inquiry based project on student heritage and culture.
OUR HISTORY
The students engaged in an activity that explores the history of immigration in the United States and culminated in an activity where the students investigated the culture of their partner in the neighboring district.
We are currently working with the Connecticut Association of Schools to inform all of the school districts in Connecticut about this engaging on – line program that is free to all educators. We encourage you to take advantage of this innovative program.
